IMG_0120I’ve recently been bitten by the bug of paper planning with my new Happy Planner by Me and My Big Ideas. It’s a really neat concept for a planner; you basically get a blank slate, and then you use stickers, inserts, washi tape, and other elements to decorate it and make it your own. Some folks use them for meal planning or journalling, while others turn theirs into works of art. Mine is pretty functional, but I’ve really enjoyed the decorating process since I’ve gotten mine! And beyond the official MAMBI (Me and My Big Ideas) stuff, there is a whole cottage industry on Etsy with stickers for creating beautiful layouts.

However, I realized purchasing stickers would get expensive, and I wasn’t always finding exactly what I needed. Being a DIY girl, I decided to exercise my wimpy design muscle and create some stickers that are pretty functional for me. 🙂

So even if it’s not 100% book related, I thought I’d create a page on my site to share goodies I’ve found, as well as to share the occasional freebie.

Just FYI, since I have a Happy Planner, most of my designs are sized for the Happy Planner! The HP boxes in the weekly layouts are longer than some of the other popular paper planners such as Erin Condren.

I also use a Silhouette Cameo to cut my stickers. If you have a Cameo, check out my tutorial to put your Silhouette to work cutting your stickers for you! 🙂

Pomodoro Tracker Preview

Have you ever used the Pomodoro technique for productivity? I love it for getting myself focused on a task that’s going to take a while. The basic idea behind a Pomodoro (which is Italian for tomato – the creator used a tomato kitchen timer) is working for timed sessions and taking a short break.

Here’s a little rundown from LifeHacker:

  1. Choose a task to be accomplished.
  2. Set the Pomodoro to 25 minutes (the Pomodoro is the timer)
  3. Work on the task until the Pomodoro rings, then put a check on your sheet of paper
  4. Take a short break (5 minutes is OK)
  5. Every 4 Pomodoros take a longer break

It can be really helpful when you have a big task and need to get long work sessions in. These little Pomodoro stickers will help you track your work!

  • These stickers are a little smaller than 1.5 inches wide so they should work in an Erin Condren or MAMBI Happy Planner.
  • I create most of my stickers with an offset, but these are already EXACTLY the right size . If you have a cutting machine (Silhouette or Cricut), don’t do an offset here. If you cut by hand, just cut on the lines and you’re golden. 🙂
  • When you print, be sure that you tell your printer not to scale. Select “Print Actual Size,” or whichever option your printer gives that prints true to size. Do not “Fit to Page” or anything, as it may print the wrong size. The sheets have a scale on the bottom. 🙂

And one last thing! These stickers are for your personal use. You may not resell them or claim the design as your own, whether my original or with your own alterations. However, if you would like to share with friends, that’s awesome! Just make sure to leave the watermarks on the files, and please throw a link back to either my website or to my Etsy. Thank you!

Freebie: Daily Word Count Tracking Stickers

I have been inching toward planner nirvana, integrating my love of bright colors and functionality. I’ve also recently been using a strategy to meet my word count by breaking up my goal for the day into small, manageable chunks. Each chunk earns a check mark, or filled-in box, and I finally decided to go from a quickly scribbled chart on my notepad to a structured format.

My stickers as printed have 8 boxes because my daily word goal is 4000 words – which makes each box 500. But the download has 10 boxes, which makes it easy to divide up for your word goal. 🙂

Here’s just a couple tips and reminders:

  • These stickers are 1.5 inches wide so they should work in an Erin Condren or MAMBI Happy Planner.
  • I create most of my stickers with an offset, but these are already EXACTLY the right size to fit the box. If you have a cutting machine (Silhouette or Cricut), don’t do an offset here. If you cut by hand, just cut on the lines and you’re golden. 🙂

Freebie: Disney Quote Stickers for Happy Planner

Freebie: Disney Quote Stickers for Happy Planner

I love me some Disney. Currently I’m in the rehearsal process for a local production of Mary Poppins, and I started making some quotes and found myself making a whole bunch of them. So here is a set of full box Disney quote stickers for your Happy planner.

Here’s just a couple tips and reminders:

  • These stickers are designed to cover the entire box in the MAMBI Happy Planner, so they are about 2.5 inches long when cut correctly.
  • I create all my stickers with a small offset (approx. 0.04 inches) so that I get ink all the way to the edge. Check out my Youtube tutorial on creating the offset on your Silhouette software. If you cut by hand, just make sure to trim a little extra off.

Clipboard previewI love a good checklist sticker for my weekly planner layouts! With that in mind, I made these cute Rainbow Pop Clipboard Stickers to match my other rainbow-themed stickers.

Here’s just a couple tips and reminders:

  • These stickers are designed for the MAMBI Happy Planner, so they are about 2.25 inches long when cut correctly.
  • I create all my stickers with a small offset (approx. 0.04 inches) so that I get ink all the way to the edge. Check out my Youtube tutorial on creating the offset on your Silhouette software. If you cut by hand, just make sure to trim a little extra off.

  • I’ve been using Staples brand sticker paper and have no complaints! Great price, great quality, works for me! My Silhouette cut settings for this paper are Blade: 1, Thickness: 18, Speed: 10

And one last thing! These stickers are for your personal use. You may not resell them or claim the design as your own, whether my original or with your own alterations.
